UMEI 005, Advanced English as a Foreign Language

 

UMEI 005 is an advanced course for international undergraduate and graduate students who have been provisionally admitted to the University of Maryland. Students who have not met the university language proficiency requirement are required to enroll in and successfully complete the course in their first semester. The curriculum is designed to assist students in improving their grammar and in raising their proficiency levels in reading, writing, and listening so they can participate effectively in an academic setting. This course is for both undergraduate and graduate students who need to improve their English before being granted full admission to the University.
